FLEXcon, an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, announced the extension of its DPM product line with the launch of DPM UVCM. The over-laminating film is a five-year exterior durable polyester film. It was designed with the tactile feel of a polycarbonate film, and provides the UV-resistance that polycarbonate does not to protect the graphics. The product was developed for compliance labels, nameplates, brand identity labels, warning and instructional markings, or any label that requires an extended life overlaminate. This complements FLEXcon’s existing DPM line of overlaminates which includes a gloss finish five-year UV-blocking overlaminate, DPM UVCG, as well as standard two-year options.
“Creating this new product allows FLEXcon to meet the needs of our customers by providing a matte finished, exterior durable product for the durable goods and transportation labeling industries, which will replace polycarbonate,” said Ron Ducharme, product manager, Product Identification Business Team for FLEXcon. “By expanding our DPM product line, we are able to offer customers the five-year UV blocking protection they need in a previously unavailable matte finish.”
DPM UVCM is a 2.0 mil clear matte UV-blocking polyester film that provides excellent label protection and the best in clarity for a matte film. The overlaminating polyester resists temperature extremes, abrasion and chemical exposure for maximum label protection that lasts up to five years. DPM UVCM comes with a permanent pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that bonds well to base film substrates and is backed with an ultra-smooth polyester release liner for excellent adhesive wet out. The product is also U.L. certified.
