Novamelt at ICE Europe: to Launch Novarad® RC 24371, a Newly Developed UV-curable Acrylic PSA

Novamelt will present a number of new hotmelt pressure sensitive adhesives at the ICE Europe in Munich. One of the highlights will be UV-curable PSA-hotmelts based on acrylics: Novamelt is launching Novarad RC 24371, a newly developed UV-curable acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive for wet wipe closure labels with an outstanding chemical resistance. This development is the result of market driven demands to replace solvent born adhesives by environmentally friendly technologies.

Labelling food packaging in the refrigeration sector represents a challenge for every adhesive label printer. It is usually a matter of packaging lines in factories for cheese, sausage products and meat. For such products, the labelling takes place on various plastic packages at 0-5 °C and in a moist environment.

With the development of Novamelt PS 2030, Novamelt has succeeded in making significant improvements once more to the performance of the established products for "semi-freezer" applications that have been in use for many years. The new hot melt adhesive Novamelt PS 2030demonstrates an exceptionally low penetration behaviour on base paper without a primary coat, a barrier or top coating.

Last but not least Novamelt PS 5800 FR will be introduced to the market, a new PS hotmelt adhesive that contains flame retardant.
